Sheriff: Human Remains Found Near Kingston Farm

The body is believed to be that of a missing Cartersville man.

The Bartow County Sheriff’s Office has recovered human remains believed to belong to a missing Cartersville man.

According to Sheriff Clark Millsap, investigators found human remains on rural farming property in Kingston late yesterday evening. Investigators had been trying to locate Michael McIntyre, 29, of Cartersville who was reported missing by his family May 24, 2013. Sheriff Millsap reports that the remains have been sent to the Georgia Bureau of Investigations Crime Lab in Atlanta to determine a cause of death and positive identification.

The Investigation is on-going and charges are expected to be filed in connection with the case. No suspect or witness names are being released at this time due to the nature of the case.
