Tour Bartow's Unknowns for Halloween

Make reservations with the Cartersville-Bartow County Convention & Visitors Bureau by Oct. 15.

A tour by the Cartersville-Bartow County Convention & Visitors Bureau aims to uncover poignant unknown stories of Bartow County.

Participants will pay respects to ex-slave Melvinia Shields whose descendant now resides in the White House and hear mysterious stories of the last two Confederate soldiers buried in the south, and the uncanny revelation of soldiers once unknown. 

Set for Thursday, Oct. 17, the Soldiers, Seances and More Tour includes several stops in Bartow County, starts at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 4:30 p.m. It departs from the Clarence Brown Conference Center at 5450 Highway 20 in Cartersville.

Lunch at TJ's Country Buffet in Adairsville, trivia, prizes and discounted admission to Tellus Science Museum are included in the $25 ticket price.      

Tour stops include:

  • Kingston Confederate Cemetery
  • SpringBank
  • Spirits of Historic Adairsville
  • East View Cemetery
  • Cassville Confederate CemeteryT
  • he Grave of the Unknown Soldier
  • The Clayton-Mooney House
  • Divining at Allatoona Pass

Some stops include walking on level terrain of one mile or less.  Please wear comfortable shoes.  Water and refreshments will be provided throughout the day.
