Georgia Games Lacrosse Tournament

After having such a tremendous season last year, the Georgia State Games is excited for their lacrosse tournaments this year.  On June 22 and 23, the girls lacrosse tournament will be held at the Cartersville Soccer Complex .

The Georgia Games is celebrating its decision to add another youth lacrosse tournament this year. Currently, the Georgia Games expects to host 12 to 14 teams for the induction of its girls lacrosse championship.

This tournament will be sharing the spotlight with the Georgia Games’ adult mens lacrosse championship. Both events will be held at the Soccer Complex.

Any Georgian can participate in these events, no matter age, ability level or location. In the past, participants have ranged in age from 3 to 87, and represented over 139 counties and 549 cities in Georgia. Each player participating in this event has the opportunity to advance to the national games, also known as the State Games of America (SGA), in Hersey, PA from July 31 to August 4.

The Georgia Games has also already secured several vendors for these tournaments; the main ones expected to be there will be Kona Ice and Harrow. They hope to acquire more interest from vendors in the weeks to come.

In addition to hosting this competition, the Georgia Games plans on incorporating interactive games for the teams in between matches. Some of the games include the Fastest Shot, which will calculate the speed of a player’s shot, and a Shooting Contest, which will judge a player’s shooting accuracy. Each game will allow participants the opportunity to win prizes.
