About Scott
Scott Barkley has been a part of the newspaper business since 1993 when he was 19 and earned a free issue (value, 25 cents) in covering sports for his hometown weekly, the Cherokee County Herald in Centre, Ala. From there he was a correspondent for The Gadsden (Ala.) Times and The Chanticleer, the student newpaper for Jacksonville (Ala.) State University. During his career he has also been a freelance writer for The Alabama Baptist and the Cartersville Daily Tribune. Currently, he is the production editor and social media coordinator for The Christian Index, the newsjournal for the Georgia Baptist Convention. He and his wife, Amy, live in Cartersville with their three children, Rylee, Jackson, and Bryce.
