What do you need to know today? A lot happens in our not-so-little city, but we'll keep you informed.

  1. Get your umbrellas out because it’s going to be a wet one. The National Weather Service puts the chance of rain near 100 percent this afternoon and tonight, when there’s also a slight chance of thunderstorms. At least it will be warmer with a high near 50. The low is expected to dip to the upper 30s. 2. Cartersville will soon have another local radio option with the return of WYXC—1270 AM, but that’s not the only change in local entertainment and media. Around Town With the Kids

Here are some ideas for getting you and your children out of the house.

Looking for things to do with the kids? Cartersville Patch has you covered! For a weekly activity that’s fun and free, bring your kids to Cartersville Public Library. The library offers interactive activities for kids of all ages. Parents and caregivers are invited to participate with their children in age-appropriate programs of songs, stories, rhymes, games and crafts.  The weekly schedule is as follows: "The Spencers: Theatre of Illusion," a magic and illusion act, is performing at The Grand Theatre on Feb. 5. According to the website, the Spencers are renowned for a “high-tech stage show that combines drama, comedy, romance and suspense with elaborate stage illusions that include dazzling special effects and magnificent set design.” …
