Accountant Accused of Stealing $40K from Client
Police last week arrested Robert "Rob" Mark Salzberg, 41, of Adairsville, who had been employed at Professional Accounting and Financial Services in Cartersville.
A local accountant and tax preparer is accused of stealing a client's money through his side business and ministry. Robert "Rob" Mark Salzberg, 41, of Barnsley Village Trail in Adairsville, faces more than 20 charges, including theft by violation of a fiduciary responsibility, third-degree forgery and fourth-degree forgery. He was employed by Professional Accounting and Financial Services in Cartersville. The owner Nov. 28 notified the Cartersville Police Department that an employee, during the previous year, had allegedly forged 20 checks that belonged to a client, totaling $39,452.55, according to the incident report, attached. This is too bad. As an accountant in Victoria BC, I understand the temptation when you are dealing with money, but what a waste to throw away all of that schooling and hard work. Plus it's unethical. It's a shame this happened.   more ›
