The appropriate venue for adjudicating ORA violations and Open Meetings issue is the Superior Ct of Bartow Co. Not only will they rule (which is appealable if you disagree), but will fine the violators and assess attorney's fees for your trouble. One must "step" up and be known for that to happen though   more ›

Layoffs, More Furloughs OK'd in Budget Cut Plan

The Bartow County Board of Education approved the plan Monday night that also will reduce the number of instructional days.

The Bartow County Board of Education on Monday night approved a budget reduction plan that would increase the number of furlough days for all employees, reduce some high school course offerings and result in the termination of 25 to 30 employees. Every time Davis Nelson is involved with this school system there is nothing but conflict and confusion. I'll second a comment I saw on another post that said "the system would be a lot better off if we had that $3.6 million that was misappropriated when Nelson was superintendent several years ago."   more ›

The school board at its Monday business meeting voted to cancel its $369,000 contract with Ombudsman, opting to move that …
