A woman allegedly hit a man in the back of the head with a beer bottle during an altercation in the parking lot of E Street Tavern, a downtown restaurant and bar that opened last year. A police officer patrolling the area of South Erwin and West Main streets due to "ongoing alcoholic beverage-related issues" witnessed the Sunday incident about 1:20 a.m., according to the Cartersville Police Department report, attached. Jennifer Paulette Franklin, 33, of Huntcliff Drive in Cartersville, had been in a verbal altercation with the man, who she said made false statements about her, and admitted to striking him, police say.
