Churches To Ring Bells Friday Morning for Sandy Hook Victims

Cities across the country are encouraging local churches to remember the 20 children and six adults who died a week earlier in a Connecticut school shooting.

Updated Thursday, 12 p.m. Bartow County Commissioner Clarence Brown today released this statement: "On Friday, Dec. 21, at 9:30 a.m., local churches throughout the county will join in unison to ring their bells 26 times in memory of the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy. "Commissioner Brown invites all county employees that wish to participate to recognize this solemn event with a moment of silence as the bells ring."
