Would You Sign a Petition to Nullify 'Obamacare'?

Georgians for Healthcare Freedom has drafted a constitutional amendment calling for action from Gov. Nathan Deal and legislators and proposes a statewide petition drive to collect the signatures of 5 percent of registered voters.

Georgians for Healthcare Freedom wants you to sign your name to help nullify 'Obamacare' in Georgia. Citing Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts decision to uphold it as constitutional, the group says he "also made it clear states have the right to stop it cold." A constitutional amendment drafted by Georgians for Healthcare Freedom calls for Gov. Nathan Deal and legislators to nullify the federal affordable healthcare law, which would require a two-thirds vote of both houses and a majority vote of citizens. Georgia's Tea Parties are supporting the proposal. "Obamacare is a Socialist healthcare program," Bartow County Tea Party Director Gail Engelhardt said. "We had the best healthcare system in the free world, and then Obamacare was …

Tea Party Director: Board Made 2 Illegal Appointments

Bartow County Tea Party Director Gail Engelhardt released a statement along with two letters requesting investigations of alleged voter fraud by the county school board.

Letters Bartow County Tea Party Director Gail Engelhardt sent to the grand jury and U.S. Attorney allege a "serious violation of voter fraud" by the county school board. The move follows a successful bid for a Superior Court hearing to determine if Post 5 representative Anna Sullivan, who was appointed in February, can retain her seat and seek election in November. Engelhardt alleges in the letters, attached as .pdfs, that Sullivan's is the second appointment in about six years that violated a legal requirement for a special election to fill a vacant seat. In a press release, Engelhardt writes: At the school board meeting the evening of 6-18-12, Dr. Nelson lightly touched upon a couple of issues facing the Board. The first item was the …

Yes! Thank God for the SILENT MAJORITY (the Tea Party and Mrs. Engelhardt's leadership). Let's just pray the Grand Jury Foreman, whose oath of office says that he shall "diligently inquire and true presentment make of ALL matters touching upon his present service" doesn't get intimidated by the DA or a judge into not complying with his oath! By the grace of God this might be the year this County …   more ›

Local Party Reps to School Board: Release Information

Bartow Politics reports the leaders of the local Republican and Tea parties asked Bartow Schools leaders to clear up questions about a recent board appointment and release an itemized budget.

Spokesmen for two local political parties addressed Bartow Schools officials during the Monday board meeting, asking the system to release information to clear up remaining questions and concerns on two recent measures, BartowPolitics.com reports. During the board's public input session, three people stepped forward to each address two issues—Anna Sullivan's appointment to the District 5 seat and a property tax increase announced along with layoffs, additional furloughs and budget cuts. After questions on the validity of Sullivan's February appointment following the Dec. 31 resignation of Larry Parker, Elections officials called for a special election during the July 31 primary to fill the District 5 post. Schools officials have disagreed…

I also want to add that we have verified via the Georgia General Assembly's legislative counsel (that would be their lawyers, in case anyone might be confused) that the laws state just as we have reported and that Bartow County School Board vacancies must be filled by election, not appointment. There is absolutely no evidence that the law has been amended, as the only bills submitted by local …   more ›
