Updated: Man Shot by Deputy Had AR-15

Police scanner traffic and a deputy's report reveal details of an officer-involved shooting that injured one man.

Updated April 12, 6 p.m. The man shot by a Bartow County Sheriff's Office deputy activated his truck's bright lights, blinding the officer, and later was found with an AR-15 by his side, according to the incident report authorities today provided to Cartersville Patch. Following reports of shots fired at an Adairsville home, the deputy pulled over Nelson Fain Carver, 41, of Highway 140 in Adairsville. In the report, attached to this article, the deputy says Carver refused to exit his truck before opening fire from a large-caliber weapon.
