On Video: Bigger, Better Cass High

The new school adds about 100,000 square feet, a fully equipped auditorium and sports facilities.

With its ninth-grade academy downstairs, the new 350,000-square-foot Cass High was built for 2,000 students. About 1,450 now occupy the space, which Principal Michael Nelson said includes more technology and computer labs, an expanded media center, and more classrooms. An auxiliary gym, a rifle range for JROTC, softball and soccer fields, and tennis courts are among the facilities the previous campus on Grassdale Road lacked. Our video tour below details the highlights of the new facility on Colonel Way near White Elementary School.
