Angela Player, 37, of Cartersville, was killed in a murder-suicide involving her ex-husband Feb. 21 at Barnsley Gardens Resort in Adairsville, where she worked.

The woman killed in a Feb. 21 murder-suicide in Bartow County is set to be honored where she worked and died. Authorities say her ex-husband shot Angela D. Player, 37, of Cartersville, about 2:40 a.m. at Barnsley Gardens Resort near Adairsville, then turned the gun on himself after fleeing into nearby woods. Player in January had divorced Robert Wade Brazell, 42, of Kingsland. The couple leaves behind two children, according to Player's obituary, which describes the upscale resort employee, Pit Bulldog enthusiast and avid reader as "immensely [loving] her job and the family atmosphere." She also enjoyed gardening, the outdoors, kayaking, yoga and fast cars. Player will be honored at 2 p.m. Wednesday with memorial service at Barnsley …

Angela D. Player, 37, of Cartersville, passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2013 in Adairsville. Born March 27, 1975, in Jacksonville, Florida, she was the daughter of Elzie Brown Player and Diane Dyess Player. Angie was employed by Barnsley Gardens Resort in Adairsville where she immensely loved her job and the family atmosphere. She was a Pit Bulldog enthusiast, was an avid reader, and enjoyed gardening, the outdoors, kayaking, yoga and fast cars. Angela loved her children, family and friends with a fierce passion. Andrew Pray, a worship pastor with West Ridge Church, which has a Cartersville location, was struck while cycling in Bartow County early Wednesday afternoon.
Updated 9:45 p.m. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Wednesday night reported that Pray was struck by a charter bus about 12:30 p.m. as he rode his bicycle along U.S. 41 in Emerson near Cartersville in Bartow County. Pray was taken by ambulance to WellStar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, the newspaper also reported, but did not survive.
