Riverside Day Use Area

On the banks of the Etowah River and near Allatoona Dam, Riverside Day Use Area, operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, has a multi-purpose field, volley ball area, boat ramp, and picnic tables and pavilions. The day use area sits on the opposite side of the river from the Cooper's Furnace Day Use Area and provides access to Corps' Vineyard Mountain Eagle Scout Trail. It has three legs, the Blue blaze of which is 0.25 miles and intermediate in difficulty; the Red blaze, which is 0.7 miles and advanced; and the Yellow blaze, a 2.8-mile intermediate pathway. Vineyard hikers enjoy vistas of the Etowah River Valley, Allatoona Dam, Cooper's Furnace and Lake Allatoona.
