Douglas Street Office Building houses Tallatoona Community Action Partnership HRDC, United Way, the Bartow Teen Center and county government offices.
Tallatoona has a number of programs to assist low-income families, including Head Start, a free pre-school; Energy Assistance Program and SCANA Energy Referral Program; Action to Success, which provides services to help families remove obstacles blocking their economic and social independence; Temporary Emergency Food Assistance Program and Emergency Food Bank; Spring Garden Project and weatherization assistance. Those programs are administered in Bartow and the surrounding counties.
The United Way, which can be reached at 770-386-1677, is the local office of the national non-profit, volunteer-led organization assisting charity causes around the world.
Bartow Teen Center provides outreach and education to teens during after-school hours, including advisory services and sex education.
The Bartow County Transit and Maintenance departments are also housed in the office building.
