What's going on in the Cartersville area this week? Here some of the events coming up: 

Sample Your City

For the second consecutive year, Cartersville Downtown Development Authority is set to highlight many restaurants and specialty stores in historic downtown Cartersville by offering a variety of culinary delights.  

Sample Your City, set for Oct. 3 and 4, from 2 to 7 p.m. each day, will feature 11 downtown businesses. Patch has all the details.


Leake Mounds Interpretive Trail Dedication

The public is invited to attend a ceremony dedicating a new interpretive walking trail developed by partners the city of Cartersville, Bartow County, Georgia Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration and the University of West Georgia, according to the Cartersville-Bartow County Convention & Visitors Bureau

"The Leake Mounds Site pre-dates the nearby Etowah Indian Mounds and was occupied by American Indians from 300 BC to 650 AD," it says. "The site extends along the Etowah River near the river crossing at GA Hwy 113." 

The dedication will take place on Highway 113 near the Etowah River. 


Tranquility House's 17th-Annual Golf Tournament

This annual charity golf tournament, which benefits the Tranquility House, a domestic violence center in Cartersville, is set for Friday, Oct 4.
