Red Top Park Hosting Family Camp

Event will show families how to get the most out of their camping trips.

Red Top Mountain State Park wants to teach families how to make their next camping trip extra special.

On Friday, July 26, from 7 to 10 p.m. and Saturday, July 27,
from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., the park is hosting a Family Camp.

Activities include canoeing, geocaching, crafts, mini golf and campfire cooking.

“Part of the reason we’re doing Family Camp is because people often tell us they get tired of the same old camping routine, which usually involves a lot of hiking, swimming, and sitting around the campfire,” said Ranger Marcus, who will be leading many of the activities. “Family Camp is an opportunity not only to get more out of your next camping trip, but also to introduce campers to activities that might be new to them and that they’ll be able to enjoy whenever they go camping.”

Space is limited, and pre-registration is required. The fee is $20 for adults, $15 for youth (6-17) and children five and under are free.

Family Camp is open to everyone. To register, stop by or call the Park Office at 50 Lodge Road, Cartersville, 770-975-0055
