July 4th Celebrations Set for Cartersville

When is the Fourth of July party? Here's what you need to know for local Independence Day celebrations:

Stars & Stripes Over Cartersville

Cartersville's annual Fourth of July celebration, including a parade, concert and fireworks, is set for Wednesday, July 4. Stars & Stripes Over Cartersville is presented by the Cartersville Optimist Club in cooperation with . Here are the details:

  • The parade down Main Street in downtown Cartersville begins at 9 a.m. The procession, which leaves , turns right onto Church Street, then continues to make a left on Bartow Street, left on Main Street, left on Stonewall Street and left on East Church Street. It ends back at the church.
  • At 10 a.m., plays host to a day of festivities—camel rides, a petting zoo, children's activities, craft vendors, musical entertainment and food offerings.
  • A free concert at the park begins at 8 p.m. and precedes the fireworks at nightfall.

Fireworks Hike

For a nice view of Lake Allatoona, the Etowah River Valley and the fireworks at Dellinger, consider the city of Cartersville's Fireworks Hike to the top of Pine Mountain. It's July 4, departs from the at 8:30 p.m., but hikers should meet at 8:15 p.m. Bring flashlights!
