Phillies, Dodgers Keep Championship Hopes Alive
Cartersville Little League continues its double-elimination tournament tonight.
It was another night at the ballgame, as continued its postseason tournament last night. Here are the results:
Phillies vs. Tigers
The Phillies may be the more resilient team, as they beat the Tigers, who had a late-game rally to send the game into extra-innings. But the bats of the Phillies were just too much for the Tigers and the Phillies won 12-8.
The Phillies started hot early as Jake Hacker had a lead-off single, then with four more hits the Phillies jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning.

In the third, good base-running from Tate gave the Tigers their first run of the game, making the score 4-1 at the end of the inning.
When the bottom of the sixth inning came, the Tigers led a late-game rally started off by Grant Harris who had three runs to tie the game at 4-4 and send it into extra-innings. But it didn’t faze the Phillies. With a two-run home run by Austin Davis the Phillies went on to score six more runs before finishing off the Tigers in the seventh.

Crackers vs. Dodgers
Strong pitching from Trevor Lawrence was the difference, as the Dodgers advance by beating the Crackers 11-5 in a must win game.
The Crackers jumped out early with two runs in the first to give them a 2-1 lead early on in the game.
The Dodgers roared back scoring five runs in the second and shutting down the Crackers to end the inning.
In the fourth, Austin got things going for the Crackers hitting a solo home run before adding one more run to make the score 6-4. But in the end, offense and pitching by the Dodgers were just too much for the Crackers.
Play resumes tonight as the Phillies face the Dodgers and the Padres face the Indians at 6:00 pm.
