Indians Win Little League Championship

In the major league division, the Indians took the last game of the double-elimination tournament against the Phillies.

The Indians halted the Phillies' Cartersville Little League postseason hot streak with a dominating performance, winning the championship 16-2 in four innings.

It looked good for the Phillies at the start, as Jake Hacker reached first on an error, then Khase Willis hit a single out to deep left field that scored Hacker for the first run of the game. But the Indians quickly answered back scoring three runs of their own with a double by Dax Edwards and a single by Hunter James that scored the three runs, giving the Indians a 3-1 lead after one.

In the second, Indians pitcher Bailey Campbell showed his pitching dominance, striking out the side, then the Indians got the offense cranked up as Noah Daniel, Bailey Campbell, Hunter James and Thacker Lively all hit doubles that sparked an seven-run inning making it 10-1 after two.

In the third, Bailey Campbell continued his great pitching, striking out the first two Phillies batters. He then gave up a single to Phillies batter Khase Willis before getting the fifth batter of the inning to ground out to third base for the third out in the top of the third inning. In the bottom of the third inning, the Indians offense continued, scoring six more runs and making the score 16-1 after three.

In the top of the fourth, Indians pitcher Bailey Campbell struck out two more batters, giving him a total of 10 strikeouts for the day. He gave up one more run to Phillies batter Jake Norris who reached on an error. Then with two outs, Campbell had to be relieved because of a pitching limit, and Noah Daniel came in and got a strikeout for the final out of the game, giving the Indians a 16-2 win and they are the Major League champions.
