Friday Football Preview: Road Trippin'
All three Cartersville Patch schools hit the road to play regional opponents tonight.
Cartersville (4-3, 2-1) at Cedartown (5-2, 2-1) – and Cedartown are tied for second place in the Region 7B-AAA standings and are both still in range of catching front-runner Allatoona. The ‘Canes have scored 85 points over the last two weeks and allowed just six. Cartersville has allowed opponents an average just 10 points a game this season and will need to keep its defense flying to win tonight.
Cass (0-8, 0-8) at Chattahoochee (6-1, 6-1) – hasn’t won this season and must travel to the defending 4A state champions’ house tonight. The Colonels lost a heartbreaker last week by three points and could really use some of the offense they found last week in tonight’s game.
Woodland (3-4, 3-4) at Northwest Whitfield (4-3, 4-3) – Both and Northwest Whitfield are on the outside of the playoff picture looking in. But the winner of tonight’s game remains close enough to make a playoff push if one of the teams ahead falters.
