Pine Mountain Work Day

The Pine Mountain Recreation Area will be the site of a volunteer work day this weekend.

Volunteers will meet Saturday, May 5, from 7:45 am until 12:00 noon at the West Trailhead to perform various trail improvement projects.

The Pine Mountain Recreation Area trail system features approximately six miles of trails, including Cooper’s Furnace Connector and David G. Archer Overlook, the highest elevation in Cartersville.

The Pine Mountain Recreation Area has been open since October 2005 and has become a popular destination for hikers. Cartersville Parks and Recreation Department (CPRD) offers several guided hikes through the year with a monthly full-moon hike and winter and summer solstice hikes.

CPRD has received commitments from several local Boy Scout troops and many other volunteers that will be attending the event and helping repair some of the damage of the trails. We hope to see you there.
