Woodland: Highest SAT Scores in Cartersville

Cartersville and Woodland high schools improved over last year, while Cass High School scores were lower than 2010.

Two high schools in Cartersville slightly improved average SAT scores over 2010, while the third had a lower average score in 2011.

In data released this week by the Georgia Department of Education, had the highest average score of the three high schools in Cartersville, beating the state average total score, 1445, by 41 points, but not the national average score of 1500 points.

Overall, WHS students turned a mean total SAT score of 1486, with 146 takers scoring means in reading of 500, math of 500 and writing of 486.

In 2010, the same number of takers scored slightly less, with a total 1483 and means of 497 in reading, 502 in math and 484 in writing.

also slightly improved over last year with a mean total SAT score of 1452 compared to 2010's mean total score of 1448.

This year, 163 test takers scored means of 492 in reading, 484 in math and 476 in writing, compared to 135 takers in 2010, who scored 482 in reading, means of 489 in math and 477 in writing.

did not fair so well, falling 61 points this year from a mean total SAT score of 1471 last year. With a mean total of 1410, 86 takers scored means in reading of 481, math of 483 and writing of 446.

Last year, 85 takers turned mean scores of 494 in reading, 503 in math and 474 in writing.
