No Local Schools Rank in State, Nation

No Bartow County high schools received state or national rankings by U.S. News & World Report.

No local high schools received state or national rankings, according to a report on top high schools released this week by U.S. News & World Report.

The 2012 ratings include data on close to 22,000 high schools in the United States. The only state not included is Nebraska, which did not provide enough data. Schools were analyzed on how well students performed on state assessments.

Locally, received a 19.4 on the college readiness index. had a 14.5, and received a 10.6. Bartow County's fourth high school, Adairsville, received an 11.1 on the index.

Comparatively, Savannah Arts Academy, which is ranked No. 1 in Georgia and No. 87 in the nation, received a 76.4 on the college readiness index. East Cobb's -- the highest ranked of suburban northwest Atlanta schools at No. 3 in the state and No. 191 in the nation -- received a 60.4 on the index.
