“I want to be successful, study for tests and turn in homework,” commented Shaheen Valentine.

Jaden Potts, a 10th grade student, plans to be more motivated.

About 40 percent of Americans make New Year’s resolutions, yet only 8 percent keep them.

Several students said they kept last year’s resolutions like drinking less soda and getting abs through working out.

Trevor Gonzales said, “I was unsuccessful in getting abs and quit after the fifth sit-up.”

Students believe the keys to keeping a resolution is to be positive, keep it in your mind and stay out of tempting situations.

When asked if they could make resolutions for the school itself, they thought half days were a great idea.

They also thought teachers should understand the stress they are under and give less work.

Happy New Year from the Bartow County School System.
