Georgia Highlands Appoints New Dean of Mathematics

Dr. Tim Floyd will begin his tenure on July 1.

Georgia Highlands College has appointed Dr. Tim Floyd as the new dean of mathematics. 

Dr. Floyd has a long history in the educational field. He was originally hired at Georgia Highlands in 1989 as an instructor of mathematics. He has served in various capacities at the college over the years, including director of institutional effectiveness and chair of the Academic Success Division.

He has also held positions at Georgia Northwestern Technical College and Rockmart High School. Dr. Floyd earned his doctor of education degree in higher education administration from the University of Alabama.

“The college is privileged to have Dr. Floyd as the new academic dean of the Mathematics Division. Dr. Floyd brings years of experience as both a classroom instructor and an administrator, which will further the growth and development of the mathematics program at Georgia Highlands” said Laura Musselwhite, interim vice president for academic and student affairs.
