City of Cartersville, Bartow Schools Decide on Early Release

Snow is falling in Cartersville and the county.

Cartersville City Schools will close an hour and a half early due to inclement weather, according to a spokeswoman. Parents of middle and high school students will be notified about decisions regarding after-school activities.

Bartow County Schools will close two hours early Tuesday, Jan. 28, due to expected inclement weather, including snow showers and freezing temps. 

A message on the system's Facebook page reads:

"Bartow County School System will dismiss two hours early because of wintry weather conditions. All after school and evening activities, including after school care, are cancelled."

Cartersville and Bartow County are under a winter weather advisory from 9 a.m. Tuesday through 7 a.m. Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.
