Update: Bartow County, Cartersville Decide on School Closings
Monday's after-school activities and Tuesday classes are affected.
Joining many other nearby systems, the Cartersville and Bartow County school systems will be closed Tuesday, Feb. 11, due to the winter weather threat overnight.
The school system announced the decisions on their websites:
Bartow County
Given information shared at today's emergency management briefing, Bartow County School System will be closed on Tuesday, February 11, 2014, for students and staff, due to the serious threat of inclement weather and hazardous driving conditions. Additionally, all after-school activities after 6 p.m. this evening, Monday, February 10 will be cancelled and/or rescheduled. Stay tuned to local news stations, the school system's media outlets and the Bartow County School System website for updates as necessary.
Cartersville
Updated 2/10/14 @ 3:35 p.m. - The school system will be closed for students on Tuesday, February 11. Also, all Monday evening activities after 6:00 p.m. cancelled. All staff report at 10:00 a.m. (If the staff status changes, this information will be updated here and with a School Messenger phone call-out ASAP.)
