Angie Cornett Resigns from the Bartow School Board
The move follows the former vice chairman's Dec. 28 arrest at Walmart in Cartersville on a reckless conduct charge.

Cornett cited "personal and family reasons," according to her letter of resignation, attached, which was obtained by WBHF-AM 1450.

Bartow County school board District 3 rep and vice chairman Angie Cornett today resigned her position on the board of education, Superintendent John Harper confirmed by phone.
"We will proceed with an election," Harper said, after directing Cartersville Patch to read the Cartersville newspaper for the information we were attempting to gather. It's not clear if it'll be a special election, as Harper said that would be up the Elections board.
