Would You Sign a Petition to Nullify 'Obamacare'?

Georgians for Healthcare Freedom wants you to sign your name to help nullify 'Obamacare' in Georgia.

Citing Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts decision to uphold it as constitutional, the group says he "also made it clear states have the right to stop it cold."

A constitutional amendment drafted by Georgians for Healthcare Freedom calls for Gov. Nathan Deal and legislators to nullify the federal affordable healthcare law, which would require a two-thirds vote of both houses and a majority vote of citizens.

Georgia's Tea Parties are supporting the proposal.

"Obamacare is a Socialist healthcare program," Bartow County Tea Party Director Gail Engelhardt said. "We had the best healthcare system in the free world, and then Obamacare was passed without anybody reading what was in the bill. 

"We now find out how destructive it will be to our freedom and liberties. That's why I will support the petition drive to let our legislators know we do not want Obamacare in our state at all."

Several bills that work toward nullifying Obamacare are sitting idle, according to Georgians for Healthcare Freedom, which wants to collect the signatures of 5 percent of Georgia's 272,622 registered voters.
