Who's Qualified for the 2013 Election in Cartersville?

Several incumbents and two newcomers have thrown their hats.

With one more day of qualifying left, several city of Cartersville incumbents and two contenders have officially thrown their hats in the Nov. 5 general election. 

Eight offices are up for grabs, including mayor, three council seats and four school board posts. Held the first Tuesday in November in odd numbered years, the 2013 municipal election is set for Tuesday, Nov. 5, and a run-off, if needed, will be Tuesday, Dec. 3, according to the city's website.

City Clerk Connie Keeling tells Patch the latest to enter the ring was Valerie Holt, who qualified to challenge current City Council Ward 3 rep Louis Tonsmeire Sr.

These incumbents and challengers have qualified for the listed post:

Qualifying, which began Monday, ends Friday, Aug. 30, at 4:30 p.m. in the City Clerk's Office at City Hall.
