The city of Cartersville's Water Department today began upgrading water lines to accommodate the new Walgreens, now under construction at the corner of Tennessee and Church streets.
Work on water lines between Church and Howard streets is expected to take place throughout a three-week period, and the city has notified surrounding businesses.
Officials expect no traffic delays and any water outages will take place after business hours, they say.
The city says the improvements are part of its Tennessee Street project and are taking place at this time due to the addition of the Walgreens.
