Bartow State Senator Bruce Thompson of White has received an A+ on the Georgia Chamber of Commerce's 2014 legislative scorecard.
The scorecard recognizes legislators that "supported pro-business initiatives" during the 2014 legislative session, according to a news release from the Georgia Senate's press office.
“It is an honor to be recognized by the Georgia Chamber for my efforts to strengthen Georgia’s business community,” the Republican State Senator said. “As a member of the Senate Economic Development Committee and local businessman, it has been a privilege working with the Georgia chamber to bring opportunities for job growth and economic investment to our state.”
Initiatives enhancing Georgia's competitiveness through economic development, legal reform, business and industry, environment and energy and education were designated as scorecard issues by the chamber's Government Affairs Council prior to the start of the 2014 legislative session.
Each legislator’s grade reflects an assessment of his or her support for pro-business legislation and the business community.
