Roundtable Set To Vote on Project List

Following a public meeting in Cartersville and another set for Thursday in Dalton, representatives tasked with compiling a list of projects that would be funded with a proposed 1-cent regional sales tax are set for what could be a final vote.

About 60 people showed up in Cartersville at Tuesday's meeting on the Transportation Investment Act of 2010 to ask questions and talk to representatives, but about two dozen were opponents of the proposed U.S. 411 Connector who held signs outside the .

While the final list of —known as T-SPLOST—is due Oct. 15, voters will decide whether or not to pass the tax in July 2012, unless the vote is moved to next year's November general election.
