Qualifying in Cartersville Underway

Interested candidates will have until Friday afternoon to become a candidate for mayor, city councilman or school board rep.

Qualifying for the Nov. 5 general election is this week in the city of Cartersville, where eight offices are up for grabs in 2013.

Held the first Tuesday in November in odd numbered years, the municipal election is set for Tuesday, Nov. 5, and a run-off, if needed, will be Tuesday, Dec. 3, according to the city's website.

Mayor, three council seats and four board of education seats will be on the ballot.
