Child Porn Seizure 'Possibly' the Largest to Date

Calling it "possibly the largest seizure of child pornography in Cherokee County to date," sheriff's investigators say they found more than 100,000 electronic files of child porn on a Woodstock man's computers.

Richard Ensley, 37, is in the  without bond on a charge of sexual exploitation of children after authorities conducted multi-agency sweeps Wednesday and Thursday to verify the addresses of the county's 213 registered sex offenders.

Sixteen people, including Ensley, who is not a registered sex offender, were arrested during the operation, said Lt. Jay Baker, spokesman for the .

Starved Teen Weighed 43 Pounds, Detective Says

A judge ruled Thursday that the murder charge against a mother who allegedly starved her 16-year-old daughter to death will still stand, according to a report from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Ebony Berry, 35, was arrested June 15 after her daughter, Markea Berry, was discovered dead and severely malnourished in their Mableton home. She has remained in the Cobb County jail since her arrest.

Police believe Berry would not get help for her daughter, who was extremely malnourished, according to a police warrant.

Police: Man Targeted Kids in 'Lewd' Acts at Walmart

A security worker captured video authorities say shows a man masturbating in the presence of children and their mother at the Cartersville store.

Employees told deputies the man, kneeling by a shelf and behind a sign, began masturbating in the Electronics department while "constantly looking at the two juvenile girls and looking over his left shoulder as to check if anyone was walking up behind him," according to the incident report.

Atlantic Station Smoking Ban Begins

Just in time for the BB&T Atlanta Open, Atlantic Station on Saturday began enforcing a smoking ban.

In a news release, Atlantic Station said that in order to accommodate all guests, designated smoking areas, marked with “Smoking Spot” signs, will be easily accessible throughout the mixed-use property.

Suspects in SW Atlanta Gay Beating Get 5 Years

The AJC is reporting that three out of four suspects in the gay beating of Brandon White outside a local corner store were sentenced by a judge to five years in jail and five years of probation.
