Last Chance: Register To Vote for the November Election

Early voting in Cartersville and Bartow County begins Oct. 15 and ends Nov. 2.

Today is the last chance to register to vote in the Nov. 6 election that will have some Bartow residents deciding a school board race, voters across the state weighing in on a proposed charter school amendment and a nation naming its leader between President Barack Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney.

Residents registering to vote for the first time and registered voters who want to update their information both need to fill out a voter registration form. All applications must be postmarked or received by registration and elections officials by the deadline, which is Oct. 9.

Register to vote in person at the Elections and Voter Registration office in Cartersville or fill out the application and send it in today's mail. You can also register via the Secrectary of State's website.

Early Voting Set to Start Oct. 15

Advance or early voting in Cartersville is set to begin Oct. 15. Here's the schedule for Monday through Friday:

  • Oct. 15 to 19, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Bartow County Elections and Voter Registration Office.
  • Oct. 22 to 26, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Bartow County Elections and Voter Registration Office.
  • Oct. 29 to Nov. 2, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Bartow County Elections and Voter Registration Office and the Cartersville Civic Center.

Saturday voting is set for Oct. 27 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Elections and Voter Registration Office.
