How to Apply for voestalpine Jobs

The Georgia Department of Labor Career Center in Cartersville is accepting resumes for the company expected to bring a new manufacturing facility and 220 jobs to Bartow County.

voestalpine, set to be the anchor tenant of industrial park Highland 75, is expected to bring manufacturing and some administrative jobs to Bartow County.

While officials don't yet know when the jobs will come available, the Georgia Department of Labor's is now accepting resumes for voestalpine Metal Forming positions, a spokesman said.

Gov. Nathan Deal yesterday announced the automotive industry supplier's auto body parts unit would , the first of its kind in the Southeast. Groundbreaking is anticipated early in the fall.

voestalpine's Metal Forming Division is a leading global provider of high-quality metal processing solutions, particularly special tubes and sections and special strip steel, as well as complex components for the automotive industry, according to its website.

An important get for Georgia in its efforts to attract leading manufacturers and international businesses, voestalpine is a big win for Cartersville and Bartow for several reasons, said Melinda Lemmon, executive director of the .

"First a foremost, 220 quality jobs for our citizens; quality capital investment that will have many direct and indirect benefits to the local economy;
the addition of another strong automotive company, which is an important strategic industry for us," she said. "And the addition of another international company, added to Bartow County’s .

"It’s also a fine way to celebrate 175 years of Bartow manufacturing, which began with ," Lemon added. "And it’s an honor to have such a fine company to add to [retiring] Commissioner [Clarence] Brown’s legacy in economic development in our community."

Last year, Bartow voters the current 1-cent, special-purpose sales tax, in part to the city and county incurred in the acquisition and utilties development of Highland 75.

"We’re optimistic that this is the great start that the park needs," Lemmon said. "We’re anxious to demonstrate how organized [and] efficient this community [is] to the company so that they and their customers will be very happy with this decision."

Manufacturing jobs, including those related to machinery and tool-and-dye processes, and administrative positions are expected to become available when the new plant is constructed.

GDOL's is collecting resumes for those positions either in person or by mail at 19 Felton Place, Cartersville, GA 30120.
