GDOT Closes S.R. 140 For Railroad Crossing Repaving
CSX Railroad will be repaving the railroad crossing today on S.R. 140 near U.S 411/S.R. 61 in Rydal.
Motorists who routinely use State Route 140 in Rydal may want to find another route today.
The Georgia Department of Transportation announced Thursday morning that the state highway will be closed at the railroad crossing between 9 a.m. and noon so CSX Railroad can repave the crossing.
S.R. 140 will be closed near U.S. 411/61, and traffic will be detoured onto those highways and to I-75 northbound in Adairsville.

“We certainly hope that all motorists watch out for these detour signs and be extra cautious while approaching this work zone,” said DeWayne Comer, district engineer at the Georgia DOT office in Cartersville.
