Cherokee Judical Circuit's Victim Assistance Unit to Remember Murder Victims.

The 1st Annual Flower Ceremony to Commemorate the National Day of Remembrance for Murder Victims will be held Sunday, September 25, 2011 at the Frank Moore Administration and Judicial Center. Beginning at 3:00 PM, it will take place rain or shine. This event will coincide with events around the nation to remember those lives taken as a result of violence.

The ceremony will include Guest Speakers, Special Music and the dedication of the Crime Victims' Monument just recently erected on the grounds. The monument will be dedicated in Remembrance of ALL Crime Victims. In addition, the names of Murder Victims from Bartow and Gordon County will be read and family members will be presented with a flower honoring their memory.

The Victim Assistance Unit is a division of the District Attorney's office that helps victims and families deal with the trauma and effects of crime on their lives. Victim Advocates guide victims through the court process and assist with providing crisis intervention, referrals, and many other services.
