CVB Seeks Hospitality Association Members

Cartersville-Bartow County Convention & Visitors Bureau officials hope to increase awareness of the hospitality industry and its economic impact on the local economy.

To increase awareness of the hospitality industry and its economic impact on the local economy, is forming a Hospitality Association. Open to anyone in related industries, such as hotel, motel, restaurant, shopping or services, the association will focus solely on the needs of the hospitality industry and the community's visitors.

The group will meet the fourth Thursday of each month at 9 a.m. to exchange ideas and information related to employment, education and training, taxation, governmental relations, community awareness, service, and other issues of interest as they pertain to the industry.

Participants will not be charged to attend the meetings, which will be held at various locations from month to month.

Topics already on tap for future programs include:

  • Using social media to increase awareness and highlight special offers;
  • Reviewing LakePoint, the sports development set for Emerson;
  • State Rep. Paul Battles, R-Cartersville, discussing the Tourism Product Development Bill passed last legislative session
  • Curating "See, Shop and Dine in Cartersville," a program to help increase visitation to local hospitality locations for a chance to win $100 cash;
  • Reviewing the economic impact of tourism on the local economy; and
  • Taking a local familiarization tours to various points of interest in Bartow County so guests can be directed and kept in Bartow County longer.
