Council to Eye Sewer Capacity for LakePoint

Leaders are holding a work session Thursday at 6 p.m. and business meeting at 7 p.m.

In addition to approving the , the has a number of items on the agenda for its next meeting, set for tomorrow, including an amendment to a sewer contract with the city of Emerson.

If approved, Cartersville would agree to provide additional sewer capacity to the Bartow County city to the south, which would allow the development of the now in the works.

Cartersville officials say the waste water plant has more than enough capacity to commit another 1,850,000 gpd to Emerson for the development. That would give Emerson a total commitment of 3,850,000 gpd.
