Council Agenda: Parades and More

Set to meet Thursday for a work and business session, the Cartersville City Council will discuss a number of items, including changes to ordinances and contracts.

With a work session at 6 p.m. and business meeting at 7 p.m., both at , the Cartersville council is set to eye a number of items, including an ordinance that would allow organizers to request a parade route and use of city parks up to a year in advance.

Currently, the ordinance limits organizers to 60 days in advance. City Parks and Recreation officials say the change would allow for better planning for large events.

Other items on the agenda include a change to the city's pension fund advisor and yard waste disposal contract.
