Cartersville Looking For Special Events Coordinator

Special Events Coordinator Catherine Woods will leave the post on Aug. 1, and the Cartersville Downtown Development Authority is looking for a replacement.

The Cartersville Downtown Development Authority will soon be in the market for a new special events coordinator.

Catherine Woods, who currently serves in the post, will leave the post on Aug. 1, the DDA said on its Facebook page.

"She has done a tremendous job improving communication, planning events, and growing our social media," the agency wrote. "We all wish her the best of luck in her exciting new opportunity."

The DDA is now seeking applications for the part-time position. 

The duties and the responsibilities include:

  • Plan/implement DDA events, including budgeting, promotion/press releases, soliciting sponsors, etc. 
  • Evaluate/recruit/maintain appropriate vendors to support DDA events.
  • Assist in logistics/planning of non-DDA sponsored events held in Downtown District. 
  • Coordinate Downtown merchant outreach programs, including merchant meetings, merchant contests, sidewalk sales, container plantings/Downtown beautification, etc. 
  • Coordinate all activities/programs with DDA manager and appropriate committee chairs of DDA Board
