Commissioner-elect Steve Taylor has been at work promoting Bartow County.
According to the report in The Daily Tribune News, Taylor and Cartersville-Bartow County Economic Development Director Melinda Lemmon recently returned from a trip to Japan, where the duo met with representatives from five of the seven Japenese businesses located in Bartow County.
"Basically, we had an opportunity to say thank you for the investment and the jobs they have in Bartow County," Lemmon told the newspaper. "And we were able to learn from them. In some cases we got tours. In other cases, we just enjoyed listening and learning about how the company is doing and what we could do to help."
Discussion with the companies included future expansion plans and educational opportunities for employees.
The seven Japanese companies in Bartow County are Daiki Corporation, Faltec America, Komatsu America, Ohno America, Sakai America, Toyo Tire North American Manufacturing and Yanmar America.
