GOP to Hold Family Freedom Fest

The event — which organizers say is open to all and welcome to anyone who would like to attend — takes place Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Gatewood Park.

Congressmen and state and political officials from across the state are set to be in Cartersville on Saturday for the Bartow County Republican Party's Family Freedom Fest.

To be held at from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the event will include vendors, food and drink, and several speakers — Congressmen Phil Gingrey and Tom Graves, Former Army Intelligence Officer Gerry Purcell and Tea Party Patriots State Coordinator Julianne Phillips, to name a few.

"The is meant to unify because it celebrates, as its name proclaims, family and freedom, which are ideas that we all share regardless of party affiliation," said Louis DeBroux, Bartow County GOP chairman. "Though we have invited Republican speakers to address the group for a brief period, this event is more of a celebration of family and community than a partisan political rally.
