Airport Grant Application on Council Agenda

The Cartersville City Council is set to vote to submit an application for federal funds for the Cartersville-Bartow County Airport.

Tentative funding allocated for the Cartersville-Bartow County Airport would be used to design a storm drainage system and for land acquisition services at the airport.

The tentative allocation for the airport project is $100,225 and, according to a letter from the Georgia Depeartment of Transportation, the actual contrat amount will be based on preapproved design, planning and engineering costs and/or competitive bids to complete the project.

If approved, the grant would require a funding match of $2,637, which would be paid for from the Airport Authority's budget.
