The Cartersville woman is accused of pulling a knife on police officers responding to a welfare check.

An intoxicated woman is accused of pulling a knife on, biting and punching police officers responding to a welfare check Monday about 10:45 p.m.

The North Bartow Street woman told Cartersville police she had consumed about 750 milliliters, or a "fifth" of Vodka, and multiple unknown pills, according to the incident report, attached.

She said "she had been trying to hurt herself on multiple separate occasions the past few days, including cutting herself, burning her vagina and overdosing," the report says.

Officers who called for an ambulance say the woman reached for knife on her dresser and pointed it at emergency medical workers and officers. At the treat of being Tased, the woman put down the knife.

She allegedly told officers she only grabbed it to harm herself during a subsequent altercation that began when the woman was asked to lie on a stretcher. She was apparently willing to sit on the stretcher, but allegedly bit a police officer's arm and punched another in the face during the affray.
