DUI Suspect Says Cops Will Have To Fight for Her Mug Shot; Woman Allegedly Cashes $6K in Fake Money Orders

A couple of Cartersville police reports caught our eye, but chronicle alleged crimes and the people involved are assumed innocent until their cases are settled in the courts.

A couple of police reports chronicling alleged criminal incidents in Cartersville and Bartow County in the last day or so caught our eyes at Cartersville Patch. Here are the stories:

Woman Tells Police She'll Fight To Prevent Mug Shot Photo

A Cartersville woman originally pulled over for an inoperable brake light allegedly told police officers they'd have to physically fight her to get a mug shot following her arrest.

Stephanie Leigh Gaglione's mug shot, however, was taken at the Bartow County jail, according to Cartersville Patch's crime blotter.

A Cartersville Police Department officer spotted the 2008 Nissan Armada driven by Gaglione, 45, of Mission Ridge Drive, on West Avenue about 4 a.m. Sunday, and arrested Gaglione on a DUI charge.

Gaglione's vehicle was turned over to her husband, according to the CPD reports, attached.

"While her husband stood at the back window asking Mrs. Gaglione where she had been that night, Mrs. Gaglione began asking me if there was any way, 'we can work this out, is there any deal we can come to, just let me go,'" the officer reported. "Mrs. Gaglione stated she owned a business in downtown Cartersville and she would allow me to 'shop there for free for a year,' if I let her go.

"Mrs. Gaglione offered to redecorate my home free of charge if I would let her go."

Gaglione was then transported to the police department for processing—fingerprinting and photographing.

"When told her photograph was needed, Mrs. Gaglione stated she would not be taking her photograph under any circumstances and that I would need to physically fight her in order to get the picture," the officer reported.

Gaglione was charged with DUI and an inoperable brake light and booked into the Bartow Couny jail. She's since been released on bond.

Police: Woman Cashed More Than $6K in Counterfiet Money Orders

Cartersville police Monday arrested a woman authorities say cashed $6,510 in counterfeit money orders at SunTrust.

A SunTrust corporate security officer last month notified police of seven questionable December transactions, citing she had tried to contact the suspect by phone and certified mail, but received no response.

Susan Elizabeth Quave, 47, of Old Mill Road in Cartersville, was charged with two counts of first-degree forgery.
