A Cartersville woman was found deceased Sunday in a bathtub, an incident that led to the arrests of three people.

Authorities believe Ashley Nicole Harris, 26, an Alexandria Landing apartment complex resident, died as a result of drowning in the bathtub while having a seizure, Capt. Mark Camp said.

Emergency crews were called to apartment 602 about 4:20 p.m. after another resident of the unit found her unconscious under the water in the bath. The man said Harris had entered the bath about 3:30 p.m., according to the Cartersville Police Department incident report, above.

Firemen tried CPR on Harris, but she was not breathing and had died.

Police who responded to investigate the death smelled "burnt and green" marijuana in the apartment, according to the report.

Ronnie Clinton Strong, 33, who lives in the apartment and found Harris, removed her from the bathtub and placed her on the bathroom floor, he told police, according to the report. He then went to get a neighbor.

The neighbor said she called 911 and began CPR.

Police say Strong had "bloodshot eyes, erratic speech and was extremely nervous." He declined to give police consent to search the apartment.

"Strong would not stand still and kept moving around from room to room in the apartment as we were performing CPR," an officer noted in the report.

He was arrested along along with  another on drug charges in connection with illegal drugs found in the apartment, Camp said. A warrant has been issued for a third person's arrest.

Ronnie Clinton Strong, 33, and Vanessa Chambliss Strong, 43, both of 370 Old Mill Road, Apt. 602, were arrested and charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
